Baby Posts

I wrote a few blog posts after we found out about the baby. After re-reading them today, I posted most of them, with significant reservations.

I find it's easy to maintain the blog with a fair amount of emotional reserve: here are the pictures that we took in Leavenworth this weekend, I'm currently working on building a headboard, I just burned the heck out of my berry pie, etc.

Talking about feelings and opinions requires a level of commitment that I typically avoid expressing on a public forum. Especially when I'm discussing my family. Having opinions opens one up to comments and criticisms and let's be frank, nobody likes to hear anything less than glowing reviews in regards to your own family.

Unfortunately, I think it's hard to discuss pregnancy or babies without talking about feelings. Especially since I think I've typed the word 'excited' about 10 million times today...

So, the posts are up. I'm a little embarrassed about how little I know about pregnancy and babies. You'll find that it's painfully obvious from my ramblings. Rest assured that I'm doing my very best to remedy that situation, in terms of at least reading everything I can get my hands on. I'm sure many of you will point out that no amount of textbook work will prepare you for a baby. I'd probably agree with you, but I have to do something.

I also probably should apologize for the amount of whining. I was not one of those women that managed to skate through the first trimester without any morning all day sickness. I am insanely jealous of those women.

It might be useful to scroll down to the bottom and read up, as the posts are arranged in reverse chronological order.
