Weekend Happenings

My Dears!

I hope you had a great weekend. Ours was a good mix of fun things and productive tasks. We cleaned out the guest bedroom in preparation for plaster repair/painting, made a dump run and worked on the edging around our new garage doors. Benjamin and I also went down to Interbay where we met a friend and attended a u-pick lavender event. Fun, fun, fun! It was at a p-patch so we also got to ogle all the scrumptious fruits and veggies that industrious seattlites are growing:

I’ve never tried to grow artichokes before. Have you?
If I had only a few precious square feet in a p-patch, I would not be wasting space on cabbages.

Beets would definitely be on my list though.
Purple artichokes! My favorite of the day.
It wouldn’t be a u-pick lavender event without the plant in question. We stocked up on the culinary varital.

Later in the we headed over to my parent’s casa for a BBQ. Ben also dipped his toes into Lake Washington for the first time.
It wasn’t a smashing success.. but not a huge failure, either.

Maybe next year he’ll be working on those cannonballs off the dock.
