This is the end result of a collision between a (very cute) little sailboat and a big motorboat. My dad was sailing around the lake last weekend when three inattentive men zooming back to the harbor in their motorboat ran him over. Literally. At 25-30 knots! How they failed to see the sail or the boat is puzzling. Thankfully, they stopped long enough to pull him out of the water and call an ambulance. Sailboat accidents are a touchy subject in our family; we're especially thankful that this one had a (fairly) happy ending. Except, of course, for the sailboat.
