Holiday Treats

One of my favorite parts of the holiday season, not surprisingly, is making chocolaty goodies. The one pictured below are chocolate truffles. Today I made 80 of the little guys. It's actually a really fun process and kids can participate as well.

Here are the truffle "cores". The smallest cores will be dipped in milk chocolate to form an outer shell while the largest ones are rolled around in various toppings (see below). These are a couple of the toppings that I used today: powdered chocolate and walnuts. I've also used coconut and almonds as toppings.
The finished product!

  1. Yummy! I begin my baking this week. First it will be the Christmas ball cake. (Just a fun one to decorate). I will put red swirls in the cake and decorate the icing like to look like a Christmas ornament. Then comes the cookies!!! :) Love the truffles though...they look delicious. Making me hungry just looking at them. Good thing dinner is almost ready.
