I haven't made sugar cookies in ages, mostly because mine always taste pretty bland. But who can resist making cookies that require decoration?
I remember one time when I was really little (when we used to live on Howell Street in Seattle) making sugar cookies with my godmother, Laurie. I just remember rolling out the dough and putting down the cookie cutters and of course, my favorite part, the decorating.

I always forget how much sugar cookies spread out during baking. This was is about the size of a dinner plate.
Of course, cookies don't really stay in their proper shape during baking.
This one was supposed to be an inverted heart.
But upside down it appears that this lady is in need of a slightly larger swimsuit...
