San Francisco!

We are home safely from our weekend excursion to San Francisco. I think both Chris and I fell in love with the city all over again. The public transportation is great, it's an eco-friendly, dog-friendly, diverse city and it had a great community vibe. We stayed at the St. Francis on Union Square and it turned out to be a good jumping-off point for a wide variety of activities. We did most of the "tourist" stuff like visiting Alcatraz and walking around Fisherman's Warf but our time spent on those activities was limited. We spent most of our time walking along the waterfront admiring the boats, conversing with the cable car drivers, and walking the Golden Gate Bridge. We probably logged 10 or 11 miles on Sunday and got woefully sunburned in the process. I'm always amazed that it can be cloudy and freezing cold and I end up bright as a tomato. I'm paying for it today. Sorry to our dear friends in and about the Bay Area; we decided early on that we needed a weekend that was just for us. We'll be sure to give you a call the next time we're in the city.
Here are a couple of pictures from the trip; I'll post more tomorrow night when Chris is in class.
Love,
Sonja and Chris
