Not Much Happening on the Home Front

Friends and Family,
In case you haven't noticed, I haven't been posting many pictures of us lately, mostly due to the fact that things have been pretty quiet around here. Chris has been working some crazy hours and my UCI class just started last week and we're working on an completely gigantic, humongous project at work which is due on Monday. So we've been busy, to say the least. We've been quietly expanding our circle of friends down here and have had some really enjoyable nights out with friends.

Summer is in full swing down here, it's been hot lately. I'm happy to report that the plants that started growing out of my worm bin have produced results. So far we've harvested tomatoes, potatoes, and onions. All from start-up plants! We also had a pumpkin but it didn't survive the drought. Our apricots are long gone but I think we've got a bunch of limes almost ready and we're gearing up for a great avocado season. If you live in the southern california area, come by in a couple of months and pick some 'cavados. We've got more than we can handle.

Poor Bails has been feeling rather neglected lately due to our hectic schedule. My friend Mindy and her dog Echo are going to come and house sit for us while we're up visiting in Seattle and Alaska so I think he'll get plenty of loving then. Speaking of travel, boy am I ready for a vacation!! We're going to go fishing up in Alaska, which, once you get over the killing-the-fish-part (a major hurdle for me), is great fun. Our Seattle plans are slightly up in the air since my dad had a little run-in with the hill in back of our house last night. A broken ankle was a major bummer since he and the madre were just about to depart on their week-long Yosemite backpacking trip. Regardless of our activities in Seattle, I'm looking forward to seeing family and relaxing away from work. And I'll bet we can convince Papa to make it up to Lake City to visit our favorite Sushi restaurant, despite the crutches.

Well, I think that's about it. Hope things are well in your neck of the woods.
