So at long last I've grown a bit bored with our blog layout. Ours was a standard background provided by Blogger and we've had it for about three years. (Three years, gosh our little bitty blog is really growing up!). Anyway, as I've discovered these past couple nights, changing the layout to a non-blogger layout is not quite as simple as I would have initially guessed. I was thinking it would be like changing a MySpace skin. Not the case. In the first place, there really aren't that many templates out there (compared to MySpace) and it's difficult to find one that isn't too frufru. Seriously! I've looked at hundreds of templates and have found a grand total of three (that I like, but not love). Additionally, many of the templates were created for the classic version of blogger and we've moved into beta, making those templates unusable.I really like the green one (top), however, I'm finding it difficult to transfer all our widgets over into the new HTML format. I have absolutely no experience with HTML so it's been a bit of a tough process. Plus, most of my widgets don't fit in the super skinny left-hand column so I'm at a bit of a loss right now. I like the other two but I'm not a huge fan of the white background. If I knew how to change it to something else, I would.
Anyway, that's what I've been doing for the past couple nights. Hopefully we'll have something new shortly but in the meantime please content yourself with our exciting and incredibly interesting blog content. JK. :)
