I can't remember if I posed these pictures previously; they come, as always, from apartment therapy. I find it interesting the the owner loved the painting of the woman in the red dress so much that they posted it in two locations.

The room is not quite so interesting from this angle.
I've had these pictures on the computer for some time now and I'm ashamed to admit that I don't remember where they came from. I believe they were from an LA Times article but don't quote me on that.

I had to go to the County of Los Angeles building department the other day and was quite please to see that the building had been renovated. Interestingly enough, they'd removed the old flooring , stained the concrete, and then put a glossy coating over the entire thing. It was, surprisingly, rather lovely. Maintenance-wise, it must be a breeze. My only concern would be heating issues and I'd be interested to learn more about the whole thing. It seems like it would make a lot of sense for a kitchen, bathroom, or mudroom. But probably not a bedroom or formal dining room.
