Odds and Ends

I had a busy canning summer this year: I am the proud owner of 75 jars of jam. Whew. I mostly have apricot but I made a few batches of strawberry rhubarb. Next year I'm going to experiment a bit and add some more rhubarb.

I sold my first jar the other day too and there are possibly more transactions in the works. I took a quick survey of the supermarket and determined that high-end jams are going for $4-5/jar. My jam is made with organic apricots (and it's an extra delicious batch) so I decided that $5 was a fair price. Chris is in jam heaven.

Let me know if you'd like to buy some jam! $5 plus shipping (no, I won't charge you a silly handling fee. Paypal accepted). Now I need to think of a name for my business. :)

Mindy, Heather, Tiff and I went to a Chivas game the other night. Unfortunately, we neglected to verify the exact location of the game. A tennis tournament kicked Team Chivas out of their home stadium and we didn't discover our mistake until we arrived. We caught the second half, after driving down to Fullerton.
The game wasn't too spectacular. Frankly, the spectators were more interesting. Those are some tats, eh?

We are slowly starting to harvest from our tiny garden. Next year I'm going to plant lettuce that has a little more oomph. This variety is weak and wilty.
