The Fruits of Their Labors

I thought I'd throw up a few pictures to show you the difference in honey colors between our first and second harvests. The later harvest is almost black and has a much different taste than the earlier one. Frankly, I think they're both delicious.
We've also been busy in the wax department. I tried my hand at these wee candles yesterday. A few more batches and I'll have the hang of it.
Life is ducky.

  1. Cute candles! Any scent to them?

I'm not a fan of honey as far as eating goes...but I'm enjoying the wax candles for sure! :)

  2. Yes! They smell heavenly. Like fresh, creamy honey. I like (not surprisingly) anything honey related (Burt's bees is just about my favorite stuff in the world) so we've had fun burning them. I had a few mishaps with the mold (it's tricky to seal all the cracks) so it's definitely a technique that I need to practice.
