Welcome to Our Casa!!

I don't know why, but we get a ton of solicitors in our neighborhood . It's a veritable flood of people.

Most of them are of the religious variety. Since our house is on a hill overlooking the street, it's pretty easy to spot them trundling down the lane, pamphlets in hand.

Which is why I've started breaking out the special welcoming committee for them. Our greeter is attired in black tie, with a friendly smile, and is always standing at attention at the top of the stairs.

He is the very essence of courtesy.

Despite these impeccable manners, most folks somehow never make it past him and up to the front door.

I don't know why.

But their rude manners hurt his feelings.

He's a tender sort. Doesn't take rejection well.

He's crying about it as we speak.

update: So the welcoming/deterrent committee wasn't as effective as I was hoping for yesterday. He stopped the Jehovah Witnesses but both the political canvasser and the guy selling windows made it past his enthusiastic greeting.

As for Bailey, he pouted for a bit after his encounter with the Witnesses but then it was dinner time and suddenly things were alright with the world again.
