Whoa Nellie

We got loads of information yesterday at our midwife appointment.

The interesting news is that I weighed in at 170 lbs yesterday. Holy moly. This girl has been enjoying her ice cream, thankyouverymuch.

I made Chris walk with me to the top of the water tower in Volunteer Park just to make me feel better about the whole weight thing. I may be wide but dammit, I can still climb stairs.

The great news is that I also asked the nurse to measure my height. Five feet, seven and a quarter inches, baby!!!! I don’t know where the heck that extra quarter inch came from, but I’LL TAKE IT.

In other good news, my eyesight seems to generally have returned to its previous state. I don’t think I mentioned this earlier but my sight took a serious plunge into the even-crappier-than-normal direction in mid December. So much so that I didn’t like driving. This was before Christmas, when I was hurrying around doing shopping, visiting the madre at the hospital, and preparing for family in town. That was not my best week.

Fortunately, it seems to have righted itself and we are now back in the land of only-moderately-bad-eyesight. Hallelujah.

  1. all that weight will go away Sonja. No worries.

  2. As active as you guys are, that weight will be gone in no time, Sonja!

  3. Sonji you guys are the most active couple I know! Baby weight will be gone before you know it! And just out of curiousity, was the eyesight something that was caused by the pregnancy?

  4. Yup, definitely caused by pregnancy. Something about more fluid in your eyeballs causes your vision to change - sometimes permanently. In most cases though it appears to be temporary. My doctor told me to hold off on getting lasik until we were done with kids. .
