House Projects: The Finished Trim

Here is a quick peep at the house trim that we did when my father-in-law was here last month. We were thrilled with how it turned out, especially as we were really worried about picking black(!) as a trim color.

Unfortunately, a peek is all I'm providing as the upper story still needs to be finished. That is a task for next Spring. And someone (braver than I) who doesn't mind heights.

We got a lot done this summer but ran out of time at the end. So it goes. The joys of home ownership.

The great news is that we now have heat! Our furnace was installed last week. Hopefully a gas range and fire place insert are on out future.

Next on the list? Attic insulation. We are looking forward to a nice toasty warm second story this winter.

For those of you that live in Seattle, there are some nice energy rebates that are currently available through Community Power Works. They paid half the cost of our oil tank removal project and are providing $800 worth of attic insulation moolah. Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
