Here is Ben’s bicycle birthday cake.
I cheated this year: not a single crumb was baked by moi. It’s two Trader Joe’s Chocolate Tortes stacked double-decker and then smothered in a layer of lemon buttercream.
The bicycles I piped onto baking paper using melted chocolate in a pastry bag. Once the designs had hardened, I transferred them onto the cake. Easy peasy. The banners are made from cardstock and vegetable skewers.

Safe to say the trike was a huge hit.
