Emma - 5 Months

I wrote this a few days ago but didn't get a chance to make it live until this evening.

My Dears,

We are back from an eight day road trip up to Banff and Jasper National Parks in Canada. It was stunningly beautiful, amazing, gorgeous (and tiring!). Vacations with wee ones are never relaxing, ya know? I’ll post some pictures shortly but in the meantime here is Emma’s five month picture. It’s one of my favorites so far! (perhaps because she’s wearing an adorable dress from the talented
M)

Emma is a rolly polly happy baby. She coos, she laughs, she wiggles, and most importantly, she sleeps! I keep calling her my miracle baby but you know that’s going to backfire on me as soon as she hits age three. Or thirteen.

Life with two kids has been a whirlwind and we’re still definitely in an adjustment period. I’ve alluded to it briefly on the blog but I’ve struggled a bit these last few months with coping, having some lingering baby blues, and generally settling into life with two crazy, wonderful kids. I wouldn’t change it for the world, but man, it’s a workout.

It truly does take a village to raise a child. And our village is unequivocally awesome. So, before this extends into a maudlin mess of a post, thank you to all our wonderful family and friends out there that have gotten us through these five months with your advice, friendship, help, and encouragement. You are loved and appreciated more than you know.

Much love,

Sonja
