Bike to Work Day

This Friday is the official "Bike to Work Day"! I actually can't make it on Friday but I'm rallying my work troops for a Bike to Work Thursday. Here is the official website.

May is the official Bike to Work Month. My dear papa is part of a Boeing team (The Renton Rounders) and was their star performer until his big toe had a run in with the blades of a lawn mower on Sunday.

For those of you out there that are regular "bike to work"-ers, I realize that one day might not seem so impressive. It doesn't seem so impressive to me, either. But one day is better than none and it might lead to more. I'll keep you posted.

Have a great time! I think the first day is the hardest, actually, because you have to figure out if it's even possible to bike to work. After you've done it once, you *know* it's possible!

I actually usually don't bike to work--I walk instead. :)

Oh, and I'm sorry to hear about your dad's toe! But I am glad to hear that you had fun in SF-sorry I didn't get back to you sooner with ideas of things to do. It looks like you figured things out anyway.

  2. Thanks, Rebecca! I'm really looking forward to my grand biking adventure! Oh, it would be so lovely to be able to walk to work again! Chris and I both did that when we lived in Downtown Seattle. Unfortunately, we determined pretty quickly that walking and/or taking public transportation, isn't a feasible option down here in the land of SUVs (aka Southern California).

No apologies necessary for SF. We had a lovely time; it's hard to go wrong with any of the activities, you know?

As for my dad's big toe, well, we've pretty much determined that he's prone to blunt force trauma at this point. :)
