Sound Transit wrapped up its initial foundation work for the light rail link to the U-District on time and under budget. Boring machines will now excavate 3 miles of tunnels between the UW, Capitol Hill, and downtown. The UW station is set to open in 2016.
Meanwhile, work at the UW station is underway to put in a construction wall and replace the sidewalk along the east side of Montlake Boulevard. That involves some traffic revisions that you can read about here.
