The weekend got off to an early start on Friday night when we decided it was high time we celebrated Eric's birthday.
Seeing as he was born in the middle of June, the celebration was a little late. But, really, who's counting?!
Except maybe the birthday boy himself. :)

We also poked a bit of fun at his selection of birthday cake elements: rocky road ice cream, funfetti cake, and chocolate frosting. Funfetti?!
BUT, it should be noted that we all devoured giant slices of the above-mentioned monstrosity, and the remaining bits of cake didn't survive for more than two days in the freezer...
So the wacky cake combo was clearly a gastronomic win.
Sweet vindication.
