Random Articles O' the Day

Parents: when you (or your wife) was pregnant, did you have a preference for one gender or the other?  Here is one author's take on that issue.

And an article from my mom about early mammals that evolved to have fancy teeth.

And last but not least, here is an excerpt from a news article I heard on NPR today about the tv shows we watch and what that says about our political preferences. Here is a nifty little chart.

Where do you fall?  [We will occasionally watch Mythbusters/Antiques Road Show/Top Gear (the BBC) version (all listed in the conservative category) but also enjoy Modern Family/30 Rock/The Office (the liberal column). We watch nothing in the 'moderate' category, however. Interesting, eh?]

I warned you that this was a collection of random articles today.

In unrelated news, last night we watched The Descendants, with George Clooney. A nice little film. We also enjoyed seeing the various scenes from Hawaii that we recognized: Waikiki, Maui, Kauai (from Chris: "Hey! That's the restaurant where we had Greg's bachelor party!")

I also just read The Hunger Games and downloaded all six episodes of the BBC's Pride and Prejudice miniseries. The one with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth. I'm at the point where I've read the book too many times and now it only takes me an hour to get through the entire thing as I skip to all my favorite parts. Not good peeps. So I figured I'd switch things up a bit and watch the videos. [ohhh, crazy, I know]. My favorite character? Mr. Bennet.
