Long Weekend

Peeps,

Hope you had a great holiday.

Our weekend was pretty laid back. Which was good as things have been zipping along at a rather frenetic pace lately.

I made some peach jam from fruit we brought back from our CA road trip. The jam was a bit on the syrupy side which was a minor disappointment but it hasn't stopped us from pouring it over croissants and other various toast-like items.

Ben listened to some tunes. In his underwear. I hope I'm not jinxing myself here when I state that I'm about to declare victory in the great potty training adventure. The last great test will be Ben's first day of preschool tomorrow.

We went to the zoo. Again. I love our zoo.
Ben says: "Bears? Eh. I've seen those in the wild before. No biggie". His mom, on the other hand is thrilled to see them from behind the glass. I've had my fill of wild bears for the year, thankyouverymuch.

We had a picnic lunch down at Carkeet Park. Huge success - trains, container ships, and an osprey that plucked a fish right in front of us.

We had a tasty BBQ with Chris' sibs on Saturday and made ice cream with my parents yesterday. YUM.

Ben was in heaven.
Three helpings? Yes please.

In other news, we just about finished our huge drainage project. A few more pieces and we'll be ready for another soggy seattle winter.

Chris also put up all the little hardware pieces in the bathroom: towel racks, toilet paper holders, and window latches. The only thing we need now is some pretty artwork. Which, realistically, will probably take us several years to buy and hang.

Tomorrow Ben starts his first day of a little 4hr preschool that he'll attend a few days per week. He's thrilled to be meeting new kids and I'm looking forward to a bit of toddler-free time.

And, if all goes well tomorrow, we'll find out Baby #2's gender during our 20 week ultrasound. Can't believe we're halfway through.

xo,
Sonja
