Seattle Activities: The Reptile Zoo

My Dears,

I hope you had a great weekend.

Last night at book club my sisters-in-law and I looked out the window and spotted President Obama’s motorcade drive across the I-5 bridge. Him and 40 of his closest police compadres. It was quite the escort. It got me thinking about the about the time Megan and I saw him at UW

Our book this month was Orange is the New Black: My Year In A Women’s Prison, which is also currently airing as a Netflix tv special. A nice, quick read. And also a good reminder to avoid jail at all costs, even a low security one. :)

In case you can’t tell by the pictures in this post,  our family zipped up to Monroe for a visit to the Reptile Zoo on Saturday. Ben’s been begging to go back for a visit to the alligators for months. He kept asking for ‘my friend Henry’, who was the kiddo that was with us on our last visit. That, and the lolipop that the sweet lady at the BBQ restaurant handed him right before going into the zoo. Why am I not surprised that this kid focuses on his friends and his sweet tooth?

This time around he was happy to zip around on his own to feet and only needed the security of dad’s arms upon viewing the 'really big, big alligator’. Progress?

Fortunately, Barnabas was taking a nap, rather than performing the aerial maneuvers that he shows during weekend feeding sessions.

We’ll be back, reptile zoo!

xo,

Sonja
